Welcome to Watsons
Personal and Professional Auctioneers
Much has changed since we opened our auction house in Heathfield, East Sussex in 1873, but one thing has remained unaltered: our commitment to providing a personal, professional service covering fine art, antique furniture, pictures, collectors items, general sale items, valuations (probate, insurance or sale) and a complete clearance service. We take great pride in our reputation, and the long-standing relationships we enjoy with buyers, sellers, dealers, solicitors and other clients worldwide.
We run several types of sale including a General Auction every Tuesday with up to 600 lots, an Antique & Collectables Auction three/four times a year with up to 500 lots, two Automobilia & Toy Auctions as well as an annual Garden & Statuary Auction.
By combining the best of today’s technology with the values of a traditional family firm, we offer you the individual attention, unrivalled expertise and reassurance that have made us part of life here for more than 140 years. To keep up to date please follow us on Facebook.
Our next Specialist auction will be held on Thursday 25th August at 9.30am.
Toy & Tranport
Family run Auction House in Heathfield, East Sussex since 1873 we pride ourselves on a personal service with traditional values but utilising the latest in modern technology
As well as assessing items for sale in our auctions, we undertake formal valuations for: Probate, Insurance and Family Division, made at the instigation of solicitors or executors.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved at your company who dealt with our items. Your integrity, sensitivity and professionalism in what is an extremely sensitive situation was outstanding, unlike others who endeavored to take advantage of two extremely vulnerable elderly ladies
Thank you for the way in which you handled the valuation at my late mother’s house, I really do appreciate this .I also like receiving the cheques in the post, a lovely surprise often arriving when I’m having a ‘blip’ missing mom”
This was the first time that I have attended Watsons Auctions, I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the helpfulness of the staff from the warm welcome received when I arrived (including advice as to where to go for some breakfast) to the service given, which extended to unscrewing the lithograph from the wall so that I could have a closer look at it, the efficient way that my invoice was created, the fact that my lot was ready for me in the reception areas as soon as I had paid for it and how smooth everything ran in general. Certainly there’s a lesson here for a lot of other auction houses… and a credit to all the staff. Many thanks, you made the experience of parting with my money a pleasure!
